To ensure the safety and security of all personnel, assets, and visitors at Century Center during non-event operating hours through consistent and professional screening practices.

Applies to all non-event visitors, including:

  • Contractors and vendors
  • Scheduled client meetings or site tours
  • Delivery drivers
  • Media representatives
  • General public accessing administrative offices or public areas

Does not apply to credentialed staff or ticketed event attendees (see Event Screening Policy).

Visitor Entry Locations

  • Door 1 & 2 Entrance: Primary entry point for pre-scheduled guests, vendors, and meetings.
  • Loading Dock Access: Used only for approved deliveries or contractor access; security must confirm access.
  • All other doors: Remain secured and are not to be used for visitor entry unless explicitly permitted.

Screening Procedure

  • All visitors must check in at the designated security or reception desk.
  • Visitors must present a valid government-issued ID.
  • The reason for visit, person or department being visited, and estimated duration must be logged.
  • Visitor badges must be issued and worn at all times while in the building.
  • Bags or briefcases are subject to visual inspection.
  • Security personnel may request a bag check or use handheld wands for safety assurance.
  • Visitors are prohibited from bringing in restricted or prohibited items (see Prohibited Items Policy).
  • Any resistance or refusal to comply with screening will result in denied access and may involve law enforcement if behavior escalates.
  • All visitors must remain with their host or designated staff escort unless authorized otherwise.
  • Unescorted movement within the facility is not permitted unless pre-cleared by facility management.

Deliveries & Contractors

  • Delivery personnel must check in at the loading dock or designated delivery entrance.
  • Items being delivered are subject to inspection.
  • Contractors must present credentials or work orders and wear a contractor badge.
  • Work outside standard business hours requires prior approval from the Director of Operations.

Emergency Situations

  • In case of suspicious behavior, packages, or non-compliant individuals, staff must immediately notify Security.
  • Security may initiate lockdown procedures, notify law enforcement, or direct evacuation depending on the level of threat.
  • Medical incidents or injuries involving a visitor will follow the Century Center Emergency Medical Response Protocol.

Staff Training

  • Reception and security personnel will undergo quarterly training in de-escalation, emergency response, and visitor interaction protocols.
  • New employees must be trained within their first week of duty.

Review Cycle

This procedure will be reviewed annually or following any security-related incident involving non-event visitors.
