South Bend, IN – The Century Center has been closely monitoring the latest developments regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19). The health and safety of our guests and employees is our top priority. In response to heightened concerns the Century Center, following the guidelines put forth by the CDC, state and city, has updated our cleaning procedures and implemented additional processes to ensure your safety and comfort. Government guidelines will continue to evolve as will our policies.
The frequency of cleaning and sanitizing has been increased in all public spaces, with an emphasis on high touch point surfaces, i.e. door handles, elevators and restrooms.
Hand sanitizer dispensers, touchless when possible, are located at key areas such as entrances, elevators and stairs. The Century Center also has several portable Purell hand sanitizer stations which can be moved to high trafficked areas.
Portable displays throughout the facility with messaging to reinforce proper social distancing and hygiene practices. In addition, to decals in elevators to limit number of persons per usage. Food & Beverage
The Century Center is incorporating the following food and beverage service enhancements:
- Eliminating shared use of serving utensils, condiments, etc.
- Suspending self-serve buffets
- Removing loose cutlery, only rolled banquet cutlery
- Offering individual servings, including plated with lids, boxed meals or action stations
Century Center staff are required to complete a health screen questionnaire upon arrival at the facility, in addition to a temperature check.
Any staff with a temperature over 100 degrees will not be allowed to work. Staff who are feeling ill are encouraged to stay at home.
Personal hygiene is expected from the staff includes the use of hand sanitizers, copious amounts of hand washing, appropriate personal protection equipment and social distancing.
Depending on event specifics, secondary building entrances will remain closed to the public. Building staff will be posted at the primary entrance and to greet arriving guests.
Based on event specifications, secondary restrooms may remain closed.
Face masks are required for all staff, vendors, contactors, clients and guests of the Century Center.
Social distancing guidelines are the responsibility of each attendee to abide by.
